The Werehyena

Long ago, people left familiar fields and rivers behind, carrying only what they could hold. Among them, one face remained the same by day, but by night it changed. It laughed at abundance, gorged on what was meant to be shared, and mocked those who held back.
The people named it the Werehyena. They learned it is not an intruder, but the shadow of those who forget restraint.
So they made a vow:
“Do not feed it. Do not laugh with it. Do not let its hunger pass into your own.”
Now, whenever fog drifts across the Valley, citizens glance at the lands they left. They see the Werehyena waiting, patient and cunning, and they remember:
Scarcity prevents contempt.

And the Valley endures. Long live the People & the People Only. We all have the same enemy.
